the carter documentary

Friday, November 27th, 2009

this was released @ Sundance Film Festival this year and actually got decent reviews from critics. i’m not into providing pirated shit but considering Wayne no longer even endorses the film, fuck it. the documentary is naturally bias, as they take lyrics of his music out of context sometimes that isn’t necessarily true about his own life. they failed to understand that rappers, just like all lyricists, do this to tell stories about life in general and not always of their own. the producers decide to use these lyrics throughout the film to show a personal side of him they wanted to see but he never exposed since he was never “out of the Lil’ Wayne character” for the entire filming process. maybe this is what he was against. the documentary by QD3 is supposed to be available to purchase on dvd somewhere this week but who cares right?

tokyo f house

yo the image for the song isn’t random haha, it’s Akira. the main character from an epic Japenese anime film of the same name. it’ll be hard to find it in your blockbuster or rogers or bootlegger but if you put in some work online you’ll find it. and you won’t be disappointed if your into that shit.

originally, i had planned to shoot a video for Mirage, a song i’ll be posting the stream and download for soon. i changed my mind and the video will now be for On My Way and will be shot in the heart of Tokyo.

the song samples the scoring in Lost In Translation, which is based and shot in Tokyo. since it’s my song i’m not gonna expose the exact sample bahaha, but if you watch the movie and can call it out that’s cool though. video will be insanely epic and will be released late November-ish. until then a few other videos will be up so look out.

aaaand i decided to put up the instrumental too for anyone out there interested. just give props where due.

the obama deception

mindblasting. but some content is definitely taken out of context to support the argument… that Obama is the biggest puppet in American presidential history and is being used by the real leaders of Earth as an acting savior to con humanity into embracing the New World Order. great.

dude puts up some pretty convincing arguments with supporting evidence, but also adds stupid suspense music and some silly unreferenced footage. sorry for the emo-political post but this is pretty intense. watch it, make your own conclusion about his argument. i think it could have been more effective without the dramatization. regardless, it’s something to think/talk about.

disclaimer: after watching, you may not trust anyone you know. it’ll ware off after a couple hours.

and because shit just got too real…

lost in translation

Saturday, September 19th, 2009

if your not into Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, and Tokyo… i don’t trust you.

Lost In Translation came out in 2003, written and directed by Sofia Coppola (Francis Ford Coppola’s daughter). i watched it for the zrillionth time this week because it has some reeeaaaalllllyyyyy dope footage of Tokyo. it’s one of my favourite movies but when i mention it, lotsa people haven’t heard of it.. these people are suspect… i have it if you wanna borrow it, but i’ll slice you if you don’t bring it back.

i tried to find a clip to show some of the cool footage but nothing was doing it justice… but i found this clip on youtube that showed some of the dope shit, and it’s got Daft Punk’s Something About Us playing in the background, which is always appropriate.

oh and the soundtrack is crazy. i actually sampled a track from the movie. i think i’m gonna save it till the song is mixed tho. next time. i’m on Michael Jordan mode right now so i’m gonna put a buncha shit up soon. real soon.
